1.4.1: Game Format  for Team Event
This inter-varsity event will use the best of three games rally scoring system and will completely follow the rules and regulations, which were set by BWF (Badminton World Federation).
Each player is only allowed to play ONE event in every tie. Repetitive playing in other categories in the same tie is not allowed. Each team is allowed to change the team line-up after every tie. For example: Player in Team A can only participate in Men’s Singles against Team B. He may take part in other categories (Men’s Double and Mixed Double) when his team (Team A) play against other teams.
In each group stage, round robin format should be played and all five matches of each tie shall be played. No walkover is allowed in any matches in round robin. The team will be considered as null if walkover has done. In knockout stage, each tie will end when either team has won 3 matches. The losing team in semi-finals shall play to decide the overall 3rd and 4th placing. In the knockout stage, if the team has decided a walkover, as the 2nd Runner-Up of the same group will replace the walkover team. If team is a walkover in the semifinal, the cash and prizes will be forfeited. If two teams have won the same number of ties, the ranking will be decided by the result of the tie between them. If more than two teams have won the same number of ties, the ranking will be decided by the result of the tie between them. If more than two teams have won the same number of ties and the ranking cannot be decided by the result of the tie between them, the ranking will be decided by the total number matches won. If this leaves two teams equal, ranking will be decided by the result of the tie between them. All results of any team that have been disqualified or withdraws shall be entirely deleted.
If, as a result of injury or illness sustained after arrival at the venue, a team has only 3 males and 3 females, that players may play in only 4 matches. The remaining 1 match involving that player’s sex shall be conceded to the opponent side. For number of each group players that have less than 8 players during the event, the match has to be turned down. If a team has walkover a tie, that team will be either disqualified or can choose to play but without calculating the number of ties won.
Order of play
Each tie shall be completed in the following order:
1st Match: Mixed Doubles
2nd Match: Women’s Singles
                        3rd Match: Men’s Singles
                        4th Match: Women’s Doubles
5th Match: Men’s Doubles
The order of the play is fixed and cannot be changed.

1.4.2: Line-up of players
            The participating team shall submit it line-up of players to the Honorary Desk at least 30 minutes before the commencement of each tie. Unless there are any unforeseen circumstances or else, any excuses or reasons will not be entertained.

1.4.3: Grouping Draws
            The organizing committees will make the draws on (DATE) at (TIME) at (VENUE). The draw will be delivered through email to respective team managers and will be displayed at the CLC Concourse of Multimedia University (Melaka Campus).



1.4.4:  Mode of the tournament
Matches before the quarter finals will be played based on round robin system. From the quarter final rounds onwards, the matches will be played based on a knock-out system.

1.4.5: Walkover/Disqualification
A team will be considered as walkover if failure to report to the Honorary Desk within 15 minutes when the match start. Players who failed to be at the court within 10 minutes after announcement from Honorary Desk will be considered as walkover. As a result, 1 point will be awarded to the opponent.
The Referee may disqualify any team which fails to report its arrival for the competition at least 15 minutes before the ties of its first tie or such other period as may have previously been agreed with the Referee. The Referee shall have the power to disqualify at any team of the competition if any team which has failed to carry out its obligation or breaches the rules and regulations of the BWF.

1.4.6: Brand of shuttlecocks
The brand of shuttlecocks to be used will be Fleet, model 2002.
1.4.7: Appeals
The court officials (Umpires/ service judges/ line judges) decisions on all points of fact shall be final. Players may appeal to the Honorary Referee on matters pertaining to points of law only, and his/her decisions on all point of laws shall be final. There shall be no appeal against the decision of the Referee.
1.4.8: Disputes
The organizing committees shall have the authority to deal with and to resolve all disputes, protests, complaints, claims, violations, etc during the event. Only the player or team in question shall have the authority to raise any matters with regard to the tournament regulations.

1.4.9: Law of Badminton    
This intervarsity event will use the best of three games rally point scoring system and will completely follow the rules and regulations set by BWF (Badminton World Federation). All participants can view the latest BWF laws through http://www.bwfbadminton.org.

1.5.0 Game Format For Individuals
1.5.0.1  Knock-out format of play is applied for all categories irrespective of number of participants at all stages
1.5.0.2  This tournament will practice the rules and regulations from BWF (Badminton World Federation)
1.5.0.3  This tournament is spilt into 5 categories
-          Men’s singles (MS)
-          Men’s doubles (MD)
-          Women’s singles (WS)
-          Women’s doubles (WD)
-          Mixed doubles (XD)
1.5.1Qualification
1.5.1.1  This tournament is open for the full-time student of that respective university that they represent
1.5.2Registration
1.5.2.1  Only complete Registration Forms together with complete fees are accepted
1.5.2.2  The name of the player should be according to the player’s IC. In the case that the participant registers himself using his nickname, he will be immediately disqualified. E.g. Lim Wan Thing registers as Anna Lim.
1.5.2.3  Players must produce their IC for registration upon the request of the Organizer. Failure to do so will result in disqualification of the player.
1.5.2.4  All participants are required to keep their receipts and bring it along for registration on the event day.
1.5.2.5  Registration Fees are not refundable.
1.5.3 Gameplay
1.5.3.1  The format of play for this tournament adheres to the 21 point, best of 3 games format in accordance with the BWF rules and regulations.
1.5.3.2  This tournament uses FLEET NO. 2002 shuttlecocks for all
1.5.3.3  The shuttle speed is 77.
1.5.4 Withdrawal & Substitution
1.5.4.1  Players who decide to withdraw from the tournament must inform the Organizers before the start of the event.
1.5.4.2  A player can be substituted by another player which is a full-time student before the event begins. No substitutions will be entertained after the event starts.
1.5.4.3  Application of substitution will only be approved if the player has a valid reason to miss the tournament
1.5.5 Draw & Match Schedule
1.5.5.1  The drawlot session will be conducted by the event committee members
1.5.5.2  The date, time and venue of the draw lot session will be announced on the event website
1.5.5.3  All players are encouraged to attend the drawlot session
1.5.5.4  The Organizer will represent participants who are absent for the drawlot session to perform the draw.
1.5.5.5  The event match schedule will be uploaded to the event website by, (DATE)

1.5.5.6  The match schedule is subject to change depending on the number of participants.

1.5.6 Protest
1.5.6.1  Only players may protest for any incidents deemed unjust by the players
1.5.6.2  The Organizers will only take action on an incident if there are protests
1.5.6.3  All protests must be reported to the referee in written from within 1 hour after the match with a fee of RM 100. The Organizers will only accept written or printed form of a protest and no other forms of protest
1.5.6.4  No appeals will be entertained as the Referee is qualified and registered with the MBA (Melaka Badminton Association)
1.5.6.5  The RM 100 will be returned if the protest has valid grounds, otherwise, the RM 100 will be forfeited.
1.5.7 Walkover
1.5.7.1  Players are not allowed to walkover their matches from the Semi-Final stage onwards without a valid reason.
1.5.7.2  The Organizers will confiscate the cash and prizes of players who fail to obey the rule above.

1.5.8 Precautionaries
1.5.8.1  The Organizers shall not be held responsible or liable for any loss of personal belongings, injuries, death, medical expenses incurred during or after the tournament.
1.5.8.2  Participants must wear proper attire and bring their own sport equipment during the tournament.
1.5.8.3  Participants are advised to practice proper conduct during the tournament. Verbal or physical sign vulgarity is prohibited.
1.5.9 Disclaimer
1.5.9.1  The Organizers have the right to change the rules & regulations and prizes above without prior notice.
1.5.9.2  The Organizers have the right to disqualify any players who fail to adhere to the rules & regulations above.
